“Quotes Of The Day” Archive

I love quotes … somehow those few words can express everything you’re feeling at that one moment in time. They can come from friends, television, books, historical figures, and of course yourself.

I’ve been collecting quotes from the Internet and also ones I’ve written for awhile now. They’ve been residing and collecting enormous amounts of dust in my Google Doc’s folder, so I’ve decided to share them with the world!

Yes .. I know most of the quotes are from Grey’s Anatomy and Scrubs, but hey … those are really good shows.

My apologies in advance if I don’t mention who the source of the quote is from, I’ll try and add those later on.

Also if you guy’s have any quotes you would like to share, feel free to do so. I’ll update this page whenever I find new quotes to share to you guys.

So let’s get onto the quotes:

Trust is something we don’t give away easily, and once it’s gone it’s hard to get it back. We’ll always be wondering about that lie, and doubt will creep in more and more as our minds fixate on that lie. Too often, people take trust for granted and once they lose it they never get it back.

Since when do you care what anybody else thinks? I don’t. I care what you think. Since the day I met you, you’ve…treated me like I was the man, like I could accomplish everything. This is gonna sound lame, but — your being like that’s one of the reasons I’ve gotten to where I am.

– Turk and J.D.

In the end, every relationship needs maintenance …Whether it’s the smallest gesture …or just picking up back where you left off. The bottom line is that if you care about someone, it’s pretty easy to make the sacrifice.

– J.D.

It’s always nice to let your friends know that you appreciate them. But sometimes you just can’t quite find words to show that appreciation. At the end of the day, the best thing to do for your friends is to be honest. You just have to hope that your honesty doesn’t make them realize something they didn’t wanna know.

– J.D.

Never consider someone a priority, who thinks of you as an option

– Unknown

That’s the thing about needs. Sometimes, when you get them met, you don’t need them anymore.

– Michael Patrick King

I guess all relationships have to evolve … there’s nothing you can do to stop it if you wanted to … yup such is life.

– J.D.

The reason why worry kills more people than work is that more people worry than work

– Danny

Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It’s the transition that’s troublesome.

– Isaac Asimov

If life throws lemons at you, grab your bazooka, load them, and fire back!

– A

Don’t have expectations or be prepared for a let down.

– James

I feel that the value of a relationship declines as each lie is told and as each secret is kept.

– Unknown

Why do people die? … To make life important.

Six Feet Under

The greater the trust … the greater the betrayal.

– Unknown

I hope the fact that I’m gay isn’t the most interesting part of me.

– T.R. Knight (From Grey’s Anatomy)

True friends are the ones who never leave your heart, even if they leave your life for awhile. Even after years apart, you pick up with them right where you left off, and even if they die they’re never dead in your heart.

– Unknown

At the end of the day, when it comes down to it, all we really want is to be close to somebody. So this thing where we all keep our distance and pretend not to care about each other, it’s usually a load of bull. So we pick and choose who we want to remain close to, and once we’ve chosen those people, we tend to stick close by. No matter how much we hurt them. The people that are still with you at the end of the day, those are the ones worth keeping. And sure, sometimes close can be too close. But sometimes, that invasion of personal space, it can be exactly what you need.

– Meredith Grey

There are times when even the best of us have trouble with commitment, and we may be surprised at the commitments we’re willing to let slip out of our grasp. Commitments are complicated. We may surprise ourselves by the commitments we’re willing to make, true commitment, takes effort, and sacrifice. Which is why sometimes, we have to learn the hard way, to choose our commitments very carefully.

– Meredith Grey

We are left with a choice. Either let the guilt throw you back into the behavior that got you into trouble in the first place, or learn from the guilt and do your best to move on.

– Christina Yang

The body is a slave to it’s impulses. But the thing that makes us human is what we can control. After the storm, after the rush, after the heat of the moment has passed, we can cool off and clean up the messes we made. We can try to let go of what was. Then again…

– Meredith Grey

The thing people forget is how good it can feel when you finally set secrets free. Whether good or bad, at least they’re out in the open, like it or not. And once your secrets are out in the open, you don’t have to hide behind them anymore. The problem with secrets is even when you think you’re in control, you’re not.

– Meredith Grey

One thing is certain, whatever it is we’re trying to hide; we’re never ready for that moment when the truth gets naked. That’s the problem with secrets — like misery, they love company. They pile up and up until they take over everything, until you don’t have room for anything else, until you’re so full of secrets you feel like you’re going to burst.

– Meredith Grey

The early bird catches the worm; a stitch in time saves nine. He who hesitates is lost. We can’t pretend we haven’t been told. We’ve all heard the proverbs, heard the philosophers, heard our grandparents warning us about wasted time, heard the damn poets urging us to ‘seize the day’. Still sometimes we have to see for ourselves. We have to make our own mistakes. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today’s possibility under tomorrow’s rug until we can’t anymore, until we finally understand for ourselves like Benjamin Franklin meant. That knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping. And that even the biggest failure, even the worst most intractable mistake beats the hell out of never trying.

– Grey’s Anatomy

A couple of hundred years ago, Benjamin Franklin shared with the world the secret of his success. ‘Never leave that ’til tomorrow,’ he said, ‘Which you could do today.’ This is the man who discovered electricity. You’d think more of us would listen to what he had to say. I don’t know why we put things off, but if I had to guess, I’d say it had a lot to do with fear. Fear of failure. Fear of pain. Fear of rejection. Sometimes the fear is just of making a decision, because what if you’re wrong. What if you make a mistake you can’t undo. Whatever it is we’re afraid of, one thing holds true. That by the time the pain of not doing the thing gets worse than the fear of doing it. It can feel like we’re carrying around a giant tumor.

– Grey’s Anatomy

One of the greatest pleasures of life is conversation.

– Unknown

Friendship is thoughtfulness – its having regard for other people and their feelings. When you’re a true friend you give thought to what would bring others happiness, whether it’s a special gift, giving some loving attention, or helping them celebrate a special occasion. It’s thinking about how your actions affect others and caring about how they feel.

– Unknown

It’s about questioning your life and where its going and the mistakes we have to make in order to find what is really important to us.

– Unknown

When you have a question about life there is probably a song already out there with the answer.

– Kevin

The difference between saying, “I’m sorry” and really meaning it. When you mean it .. you perform an action to back it up. When you don’t, you’re just saying it to fill the awkward silence.

– A

Ignorant men don’t know what good they hold in their hands until they’ve flung it away.

– Sophocles

Mistakes, obviously, show us what needs improving. Without mistakes, how would we know what we had to work on?

– Peter McWilliams

– Unknown

It is far too easy to underestimate the people that care about you the most.

– Unknown

Have you ever wondered which hurts the most: saying something and wishing you hadn’t or saying nothing and wishing you had?

– Unknown

I don’t think people are meant to be by themselves. That’s why if you actually find someone you care about, It’s important to let go of the little things. Even if you can’t let go all the way. Because nothing sucks more then feeling all alone, no matter how many people are around.

– J.D. (From the show, Scrubs)

Why do we fall? To learn to pick ourselves up.

– Thomas Wayne (From the movie, Batman Begins)

Like any successful marriage or romantic relationship, effort, time and investment is needed. If you don’t grow together, you will certainly grow apart.

– Unknown

Never regret. If it’s good, it’s wonderful. If it’s bad, it’s experience.

– Unknown

Sometimes the best thing to do is just to say exactly what’s in your heart.

– J.D.

Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art… It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival.

– C.S. Lewis

You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view.

– Harper Lee

The truth is painful. Deep down, nobody wants to hear it, especially when it hits close to home. Sometimes we tell the truth because the truth is all we have to give. Sometimes we tell the truth because we need to say it out loud to hear it for ourselves. And sometimes we tell the truth because we just can’t help ourselves. Sometimes, we tell them because we owe them at least that much.

– Unknown

– Sideshow Mel (From the show, The Simpsons)

I don’t understand. Ever since I met you it’s been like this one-way street. I mean, I-I-I-I tell you everything, and you tell me nothing. I don’t get it — what are you afraid of?

– J.D.

It turns out you can’t take responsiblity for someone else’s happiness.

– Unknown

Sometimes I hurt people that I love, a test I think to see if they will still love me after.

– Unknown

Sometimes I feel like I am a bad person, that people don’t really know me and that I do just enough good things to fool nearly everyone.

– Unknown

Sometimes I feel the person most out to ruin me, struggle against me and be a major threat to me… is me.

– Unknown

It’s hard to hide your emotions in front of people who know you well ….. Like excitement about a new job ….. Or disappointment about a new opportunity ….. As for me, I just didn’t want Turk to know that he’d hurt my feelings.

It’s funny how easily someone can judge you for one mistake and turn their backs on you, those are the ones you don’t want o keep close to you .. A true friend will be by your side to help you and be your support through good times or bad. One has no right to judge someone without really know who they are. No one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes, that it what makes us who we are.
