Losing My Memory

Dear Journal,

My short-term memory isn’t what it use to be. It it weren’t for my Calendar or To Do List … I don’t know how I would remember anything, literally.

Anyway, I was putting on my socks a few weeks ago as I was preparing to leave. I started with my left foot and went to grab my right sock when I noticed it wasn’t there.

I looked around the couch and didn’t see it, “Hmmm, now where did I put that darn sock?”, I said to myself. I looked underneath thinking I dropped or kicked it under, nope … not there.

I stubbornly walked to my bedroom thinking I placed it on top of the dresser, nope … not there.

I walked into my closet, just in case I left it in there for some unknown reason, nope … not there.

“Could it be in the bathroom?”, I thought as I went to check, nope … not there either.

By this time, I wondered how I could have lost a sock within a couple of minutes. So I went back onto my couch to retrace my steps.

As I sat there thinking and watching “I Love Lucy” (did I mention I absolutely LOVE this show), I noticed a white material in the corner of my eye.

Goodness gracious … it was my missing sock!!! It was on my left shoulder the ENTIRE time and I didn’t remember placing it there. *Rolls eyes*

Guess that saying, “Out of sight, out of mind” is true. My memory use to be sharp and concise … what happened?

I’m only in my 20’s and starting to be this absent-minded  .. what’s going to happen when I’m in my 30’s .. or even worse … when I’m finally of old age?

Quotes Of The Day

- "In the end, every relationship needs maintenance …Whether it’s the smallest gesture …or just picking up back where you left off. The bottom line is that if you care about someone, it’s pretty easy to make the sacrifice."
