My Low Expectations

A couple of day’s ago I went to watch “Get Smart” starring Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway. After seeing reviews on, I had very low expectations for this movie because it got bad reviews.

I heard that if you’ve seen the original television series (which I have), that you probably won’t enjoy the movie version of it. Despite that claim .. it was a pretty funny movie .. somewhat predictable though because I guessed the villain during the first 30 minutes of the movie.

Steve Carell was funny and had perfect comedic timing … his physical comedy was hilarious. His wit and humor were almost like the character he plays on, “The Office”. The movie in my opinion was just one of those “slap stick humor” type films where you can laugh together with your friends.

Anne Hathaway played a good balance to Steve’s character. She provided the serious part of the team .. though she did have her moments though.

Anyways, we have an intern working with us for until the end of the summer. The movie was funny .. but he thought it was hilarious.

There were moments of the movie where he busted out laughing and at one time got out of his chair laughing and slapped the seat in front of him.

Thank goodness I was two seat’s over because he would have probably slapped ME if I were sitting next to him. I heard NY Guy fell asleep .. he was in the restroom at work yesterday and asked him about it (I don’t really talk to him that often)

NY Guy: Hey .. what’s up man?

Me: Hey .. how are you?

NY Guy: Pretty good ..

Me: So you really fell asleep yesterday at the movies?

NY Guy: Yeah man .. wasn’t really my type of movie.

Me: I see …

….. We finish washing our hands and grab paper towels. He opens the door as I follow him out …..

NY Guy: Yeah and plus I was exhausted too …

Me: That’s funny …

NY Guy: Well I’ll see you later …

Me: Yeah …

Okay .. I know that was a lame conversation .. but damn .. he’s really cute *blushes*.

Anyways … I had fun going out and it was nice to be with a couple of people and laugh because I had a tiring week at work. When the movie ended all of us parted ways and headed home.

I was low on gas and decided to get some near my apartment .. to my surprise it was $4.37!!! I think that’s pretty cheap for gas around Orange County … average I think is around $4.45 – $4.55.

THAT right there is a full tank of gas!! I haven’t seen my gas tank full like this for months … I was happy for a change.

I’m on vacation this week, so my mom and I are gonna see “Get Smart” sometime this week. I’m a Carell fan, he’s great.

There hasn’t been a time yet when I have actually fallen asleep at the movie theater. If a movie is totally boring, I’ll walk out.

- "In the end, every relationship needs maintenance …Whether it’s the smallest gesture …or just picking up back where you left off. The bottom line is that if you care about someone, it’s pretty easy to make the sacrifice."
