The Devil Wears Prada

I usually don’t like watching movies at home. I hesitate to buy DVD’s because I rarely like sitting at home and watching movies. I saw this movie when it came out and just loved it. I think that’s why I watch Ugly Betty right now .. because of this movie. Well if you haven’t seen it .. please go out and rent it, borrow it from a friend, go and bit-torrent this sucker (wait .. wait .. that’s not ethical .. … but honestly the movie was really good. My sister bought it for me .. I kind of hinted I wanted to watch it .. and it was only $10 too .. what a deal! .. Well sort of.

Meryl Streep plays Miranda Priestly .. Editor and Chief to a fashion magazine named .. of all things … “Runway” .. she’s the bitch you love to hate .. her performance in this movie was fantastic. She plays the character so well it’s scary, with her stare that can burn your flesh off, the air of power she has surrounding her, and doing whatever it takes to ensure she will always be at the helm of this magazine. Throughout this movie .. you see her as emotionless, cruel, and power hungry. But there was a scene towards the end of the movie. She wasn’t wearing makeup .. wearing only her PJ’s. It showed that rough exterior she always had to show to the world was nothing. When it came down to it, she was like everyone else.

I love this movie .. just wished I had someone to share it with .. watching it by myself tonight was nice. But having someone watch it with me would have been funner. If you’re an Ugly Betty fan (like me .. can’t wait for new episodes to air again) then definitely check this movie out! I would have written a longer review of the movie. But I don’t want to spoil it now .. lol. Or did I already? .. Yikes! ..
